This increases the chance of Byrd signing with us. Hopefully we get Tolliver and Dez Bryant although I believe they may have issues also. With Crowton's offense and this development we probably sign at least 2 more WR's. CParso was on the money again with his news that WR was a position where qualifying was a problem.

    Benton
    Brooks
    Tolliver
    Byrd
    Mason or Bryant

There's your five. Five wideout sets starting in 2008. Enjoy.

We may lose Byrd if we hold out to long waiting for Toliver, we'll have to see what happens with that. Nobody really knows what the deal is with Mason & how much of a shot we have with him. I'm not even positive he has a commitable offer right now, although I think he does.

Guys, I really do not see anything happening with Dez Bryant (not this year or any other after JUCO). Keep up the dream though.

I thought Dez was really high on LSU, but it was because he wasnt going to qualify that LSU wasnt going after him too hard? I really think this opens the door for someone like Mason. I know he is gaining a ton of respect lately and is quickly moving up the list. I believe he is really high on LSU, but he just had a good visit with Michigan. I really think if LSU wants him we could get him. I know Toliver will wait until signing day, but Id love for him to officially announce.

He is still high on LSU, but the coaching staff isn't that high on him. They weren't impressed with the film from his Jr year as well as his grades being an issue. We already have 2 WR commits that will not qualify, what is the point in bringing in a 3rd?

Nothing about Dez Bryant affects any other recruit. Bajoie not qualifying may though. Originally, the staff only wanted 3 WRs (that would qualify). Their top 3 right now are Benton, Toliver, & Byrd. Mason is fourth. Considering the OC we're bringing in & how amazing Mason is, we may want to take 4 WRs... We'll just have to see how it works out... LSU has a very good shot at him, if we really want him.

Plus with Brooks being able to play WR. LSU should do well next year.

I was refering to a door being opened for Mason because of Bajoie not qualifying. I know Benton was supposed to be working hard on being able to qualify himself, so hopefully he will be qualified.

Are we looking at Brooks playing DB?

From what I know the coaches would like for him to play DB, but agreed to let him have a shot at WR. He looked impressive at the AA game, with some nice catches. Brooks would prefer WR but is willing to switch if the coaches feel its in the teams best interest. Im sure if for some reason Toliver doesnt sign then the coaches will look to keep Brooks at WR.
