LOL, is it sad that the same crowd probably would have cheered for the exact opposite in the BCSNG? And they didn't cheer it, but they were like I think I should feel bad for not being upset.
There are some LSU fans out there that are so miserable and so pathetic in their own lives that they boo college kids or call for the winningest coach in LSU history to be fired. Remember this, in the past decade LSU is 2 wins away from being Top 4 in the country after the regular season 7 out of 10 years. That's pretty f'n remarkable.
On Facebook on Sunday, some chick with whom I graduated from high school was busy calling Miles an idiot (for what, exactly, on Saturday night?) Another guy from the same small Livingston Parish town started calling Miles an idiet, too. He said Danardo was better then Miles, even, and that Saben was stealing every guy we wanted at LSU, while at the same time, saying that Miles only wins because of talent. Oh, and that all of our players are loser thugs. (I kept the misspellings in place to give you a feel for the dude's intellect.) I had a little fun telling him off.
Everyone here at work thinks Miles is just a lucky loser, and that the best things to happen to LSU would be for him to get fired. One of the guys has a stud D-End in middle school that he's sure will be recruited heavily, and he said he'd never let him go to LSU as long as Miles is the coach. And he's an LSU fan....or so he says.
I just don't understand how people can say they are "Tiger fans" and talk about CLM like he's the stupidest person to ever walk the face of the earth. I can't fathom the thought of him not being coach of the Tigers. I'm sure he would be replaced with someone worthy. But, I don't see whoever that may be, being as successful as CLM.
Then he's practically guaranteeing that his kid will go to a less successful program, and he'll get the pleasure of watching Miles' team kicking his son's team's ass should they meet at any point. Brilliant.
We can't be assured of that at all, actually. We fired Charlie Mac, and it was 20 years before we found a worthy replacement for him. Our next coach will likely be a step down.
