Just thought that I would drop in just for the 2 weeks that we both look forward to our game with each other. I'm here to talk football, and not stir up any pot. I'm sure that I wont recieve the warmest welcome but here goes nothing....... When LSU has the ball Definately some playmakers on offense. Although the QB play has been somewhat shaky lately, Lee will have a good warm up game against Tulane to gain some confidence. Holliday is just a damn good player and can pretty much do anything with a major in running fast. When he is in the game, you have to be alert and you can NOT miss an assignment. Scott is a downhill runner with good speed. Doesn't shy away from contact and is an all around good runner. The recievers are better than decent but I wouldn't say good. Definately some talent there but seems to be a few drops on the year especially in tough situations. LaFell is definately the favorite. The offensive line is physical and big. Mean and strong. They will need to create holes and get a good push to knock the Alabama line off the ball to open up holes for Scott and Williams to run though. LSU is going to HAVE to have success running to open up the passing game. There will be a lot of pressure on Lee obviously in passing downs. Alabama's defense is obviously very physical also. I'm going to venture to say that Cody will be back but even if he is not, Chapman (who is the strongest player on the team) is more than capable of getting a push but he is still young. Zo Washington will also play some NG but his natural position is at end. There may be some problems created there but holding UT to 36 yards rushing (even if they suck) was a confidence builder for the line. The linebackers are very very good...but also young with true freshman Hightower in there. You could also say that sophomore Rolando McClain is young, but it seems as if he's a veteran since he started and was calling the defensive plays as a true frosh. The secondary is where you are going to get us. Not very experienced exept for Rashad Johnson. Woodall has done a great job back there this year however. When Alabama has the ball Will the real John Parker, please stand up? Obviously, this game falls on how he will be able to handle the blitz and the pressure from the front line of LSU....and the _______ package (slips my mind now but when you guys have 4 DE's in there). The running game that we have with Coffee, Ingram, and more recently Upchurch will keep the LSU secondary and backers aware. Will JPW be able to see this and hit Julio or Maze in stride for a big play, or will he even have time? The Alabama offensive line is obviously great run blockers with Andre Smith and Antonie Caldwell leading he way...but their pass defense has been a little iffy at times. With all the hype around Julio, how will he respond to his first ever trip to play in TS? He's big and physical and has great hands, but will he play like an upperclassmen, or will he play like a true freshman? Obviously, the LSU Dline is big and nasty. They are fast also. They will definately be licking their chops hoping to create another JPW to the ground vid on youtube. Thank God Landry is gone... The LSU secondary has been weak. This isn't a flame at all, I just think that if they create a TO early, or make JPW throw a few incompletions early, this may help their confidence. Also, at LB, you guys have a leader in Beckwith and it really helps that he's back and healthy. As far as special teams go, both have electric return men in Arenas and Holliday. Both have good kickers. I would venture to say that the punting is about even also. It will be my first trip to Baton Rouge also. I'm really excited about some real cajun food and hope that we can keep the dream alive for a perfect season and to clinch the west. Hope that both teams come out of this week injury free so we can have one hell of a ball game. Roll Tide
Obviously you did your homework. I think its pretty much well said. I hope you enjoy your trip except for the victory. I hope that belongs to us:lol::helmet:
I am really fighting the urge to say something mean right now...I'll just say hey and bite my tongue. :hihi: Just wait until grad sees that you're back...
