Well at least it used to be. Looks like the times they are a changing, and for the worst I might add. Eventually they will see the light and realize how bad this thing is but it may be too late at that point.
That's an article about the UK's healthcare program of which our healthcare program shares nothing in common. If you want a glimpse of what our healthcare program will do ten years down the road, look at Switzerland's or Germany's. If you still want to compare the US and UK (an apples versus oranges argument), I don't see much difference between rationing healthcare and denying services for lack of insurance coverage. The end result is the same, yet so many people in our country are quick to defend our system which costs much, much more per capita. Seems like a pretty good deal to me that everyone in the UK is entitled to procedures like hip replacement, obesity-related surgeries and cataract surgery. Too bad American citizens aren't entitled to the same. Our insurance programs don't always cover those procedures if you're even fortunate enough to have insurance. Otherwise you either pay out of pocket (unlikely to be possible if one can't even afford insurance) or deal with it.
The only way that's going to happen is for you to become homeless. Outside of that, too bad. Either way, you're going to be paying for it. That can't be stopped. It either comes out of your taxes or it comes out of your hospital/doctor bills.
They have already changed the language so that it is now a "tax" which is the bullshyt part of it. I don't see it ever getting to full strength though. I have faith that it will end up in the circular file before it is all said and done.
'Pubs will either repeal it or refuse to fund it. Americans don't want to and won't succumb to socialism.
Really, come on people. The quote is "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness" Not, "Life, a stipulated % of the GDP, a free hip replacement, and a free taco on tuesday"
There you go using words without knowing what they mean again. So does that mean we're repealing Social Security and Medicare as well?
Bottom line is you can't polish a turd and that is exaclty what this healthcare bill is. A giant socialist, wealth redistribution turd and the American people do not want it. Have you ever thought about why it was so difficult to get through? Huh? It wasn't from opposition of the GOP, they were in the overwhelming minority. The slime machine had to schmooz, cojole, bribe, and pull every trick in the book to get their own party to vote for it. Could it be, is it possible that the last bit of them caved to pressure at the last minute? If that is the case I'd bet that there are quite a few on the "D" side of the aisle that would would be more than in favor of re-writing this POS into something that isn't such a sham to the public. Everything hinges on November of course. Time will tell.
Of course the GOP wouldn't oppose it. It's their idea, hence why it was so difficult to pass. No National Option and it's a boon for the health insurance business and private hospitals. Why would any Democrat vote for that? There really is not arguing with people who have their minds made up about something that's so completely untrue, which is the other reason it faced so much difficulty in passing: stupid constituents.
