Herb, let me know when you have something nice to say. You didn't even know Bobby Hebert did not want to leave the Saints but you call yourself a Saints fan.:rolleye33: QUOTE=fanatic;1297494]It was the Saints who screwed Hebert over. He wanted to stay in NO, but the Saints tried to low ball him, so he signed with their biggest rival. They did the same thing to Morten Andersen.[/QUOTE]
I have the answer for the jersey issue. Give the Honey Badger #18 and give Avery Johnson #7...That would be awesome. Badger was a Heisman candidate, game changer, mean as a snake he deserves #18.
I beleive that the #18 jersey is always on the back of a senior, and the person wearing it has sole decision on the senior who wears it the following year. But I could be wrong on that...
yep, Reid will likely go pro next year leaving AJ the possibility of at least getting #1 for his sophomore year onward if no one else already has dibs on it
Wow I love it this thread is about numbers for players that aren't even on campus yet and have yet to see a snap man the dull days of college football are upon us!!! I just hope AJ comes in and contributes like his brother did I could give a sh*t what number he is wearing as long as he is wearing an LSU jersey with a number on it that is all I care about.
bhelmLSU - I mean I don't know about that theory, but I did not watch AJ's stats this year all I saw was he dropped way down on everyone's board as far as a recruit goes. I subscribe into the theory that it doesn't matter how good your WR's are if you don't have a QB that is consistent the numbers are not going to look good. Rueben Randle is a perfect example, I think we can all agree he is a stud receiver but 2010 numbers were ok but underperformed as far as his talent goes. In 2011 his numbers were great which has everything to do with who was QB in the first 8 games "mostly Lee" when RR had 638 yds of his 917 total yards or 70% of his yardage came in the games with Lee playing. Or another way to look at it was in the 6 games that JJ was the starting QB "I also including Bama because he played most of the game" RR averaged 47 yds per game. In the 8 games that JL started RR averaged 80 yds per game. Come on right there it shows you the WR will only be as good as the QB is throwing the football. I am assuming that probably happened to AJ. The problem is if we don't have someone who can get the ball to our receivers it does not matter how good they are. I think everyone posting feels we have under-utilized our talent at WR for the past 3 years "thanks a lot JJ" and we actually saw what our receivers could do when JL was QB-ing this year and are excited to see what Mett can do next year. I truly can't wait to see OB, RS & JL next year I truly believe they are going to have a special year if Miles will actually let go of the freaking reins on Offense and let his OC's call a game plan to utilize their talent.
No doubt that poor QB play can effect a WR's numbers and performance. I'm hoping that once at LSU he'll blossom again, but he might have to redshirt.
