with a bullet .... linky: Five-star offensive lineman, top player in Illinois Jordan Diamond signs with Auburn (with video) | al.com This is already the best OL class in Auburn's history. In a couple of years, my grandmother could rush for 4+ YPC behind this group .... and Chizik may not be finished. AU has also offered four-star OL Alex Kozan and five-star WR Stefon Diggs of Olney, Md. Diggs is visiting his home-state Maryland Terrapins this weekend and says he'll sign next Friday.
2/28/12 update: Auburn signed Alex Kozan, a 6'-4"/295lb OL, Colorado Springs, CO. Kozan chose AU over Michigan, Iowa, and 20 other offers. Kozan earned All-State honors in leading his team to a state championship as a junior. As a senior he was an All-American and played his final game in the Semper Fidelis All-Star Game in Phoenix, Ariz. Auburn's recruiting class moved to #7 Overall, with the #2 overall OL class. I remember all the recruiting experts talking about LSU having the best OL recruiting class ever about 15 years ago. It turned out to be a pretty poor OL class when it was all said and done. IMO OL recruits are the hardest to judge. There are more can't miss prospects turned bust and more no name recruits turned super star at OL than any other position.
I am glad cause, frankly, beating the snot out of AU last year wasn't as fun to watch as the close games we've had. Being serious.
