Good article on the Auburn-bama rivalry. Just thought it wouild make your day. Sit back and enjoy Officially at War? Auburn and Alabama Inch Closer - Track Em Tigers
It's like if Al Queda and the Taliban fought each other. I want to watch them eff each other up. opcorn:
I'm afraid that eventually that's what we're going to do. A growing number of people think we should quit playing for awhile and let things cool down. I'm not sure even that would do any good. My oldest daughter is a bama grad and it's getting more difficult even for us to have a civil conversation. Neither side is going to let the other have the last shot.
Wow. I don't know what to say. I'm an  fan, born and bred, but I'm very glad the Tigers don't have a true rival. This looks like it's getting way out of hand. As I recall telling middle schoolers when I was coaching, let's do all we can to ruin our opponent's (never our enemy) day, not their lives. :geauxtige
Someone will be killed over this stupidity yet. Play football. Talk trash. Have fun. After all it's college football. Someone will be drunk and a fight will break out and then who knows? A tragic accident or maybe a shooting. It's a game. Your kids are watching how you act. Think about it. Enjoy the game and have fun.
The fight and suspension of the series has already happened years ago and play was suspended for a long time. Only in the late forties (I believe it was) the legislature made them start playing again. So this rivalry is rooted in bitterness. it isn't too bad as long as bama is on top and they delude themseleves that Auburn is little sister. But Auburn has pretty much dominated since Bear Bryant died and the bammers just can't stand to admit it.
:geaux: Also about like watching the Republican's & Democrat's in DC right now. They're all about eff'n each other up too. :hihi: If it wasn't so sad, it would be funny. :LSU231:
Spot on. I went to my 11 year old's "World Series" baseball tourney last week in Myrtle Beach. A dad from our team got into a verbal confrontation with a dad from the other team about them playing loud music when our kids were at the plate. Dude from the other team pulled a knife. Cops showed up a few minutes later. The kids in the dugout watched it all with wide eyes and open mouths. I was embarrased for both sets of kids. How do you explain that sort of behavior ?
