Auburn may get an '04 title yet (and who's USC's cover boy?) | Jeff Schultz those rings may have been premature yet end up being legit. sorta.
I feel bad for them, sorta. I don't think anyone in the SEC with the exception of the gumps thought Auburn didn't deserve a title shot. Especially since that was the year after OU backed into the title game. Everyone knew OU was going to get smoked. I honestly believe Auburn would have kicked USC's teeth in that season.
And without cheating. I hope they do it simply to piss off Patricia Carrol the drama queen. That would be sweet, he'd have a real hissy fit.
everyone cheats. lets get real. some are just more overt. i dont feel sorry for Auburn. I think it was just fate to go along with their stepchild syndrome. I feel bad the SEC didnt get another notch on their belt though, simply for LSU's sake. not that it would really matter. the best thing would be USC gets stripped and Auburn gets nothing and will like it.
you can bet that if by some chance Auburn gets awarded the title, which i don't think they will, that Not So Big Game Bob St. Oops will start his crying again. I can't stand that guy.
They don't deserve the title, because they never played the game. They did deserve a shot at it, but that's all history now.
I want the title, but it is kinda hollow, like getting a late birthday card that tells you the other party didn't care enough at the time to get it right. And I wonder if 2005 was the first year the sooners had "jobs" for their players... Oklahoma Sooners Football Blog: NCAA Lays the Law Down to Oklahoma -- Sooners to Vacate Wins NCAA Lays the Law Down to Oklahoma -- Sooners to Vacate Wins The University of Oklahoma to vacate 2005 wins: The NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions has penalized the University of Oklahoma for major violations in its football program. These violations involve three football student-athletes receiving payment for work not performed at a Norman, Oklahoma automobile dealership. The impermissible benefits totaled approximately $17,000 in unearned wages and led to the committee finding that the institution failed to monitor the employment of football student-athletes. Penalties for the violations include adding two years to the university's current probationary period, a reduction in allowable financial aid, and a vacation of records for the 2005 season including a bowl game victory.
was that the year Bomar was made the escapegoat to take the heat off Adrian Peterson who was driving around in a new lexus. leased in his mothers name with a 20k cash down payment. to the dealer who was the biggest donor to OU? then stated he was test-driving it when caught? glad the ncaa cleared them of that. nothing fishy there.
