Interesting, but basically still a whole lot of nothing at the moment.

True, but Sheridan is usually pretty solid in his reporting. We'll see what comes of it.

He's leaving a chasm full of holes in the story, though. If the bagman comes forward, Auburn's screwed...but not really because Auburn wasn't involved, and if it doesn't happen within 6 months the investigation's over. The guy isn't a rogue booster, but he's an "influential friend".

I wouldn't be particularly surprised if Chizik's little stunt forced the NCAA to look harder, but it implies that up to this point they've been sitting on their hands for 10 months.

I don't think NCAA has a timeline of when it will end. I think Sheridan was assuming there.

If the bag man comes forward, Auburn is screwed.

"Sheridan calls the alleged financier of the deal a "wealthy supporter of Auburn." That means someone the NCAA will define as a booster, and that means (if true) we're in Albert Means territory at the least."

this could be the single, most ignorant statement I've ever read on this forum.

    really.

I gotta agree with this. Sheridan is basically a sports bookie that just acknowledged (alleged) that he has an inside source with the NCAA. Stupid move if true...even more stupid than if he's full of chit. The NCAA better be policing themselves!

A few comments since you asked:

    1. Finebaum plus Sheridan still equals ZERO. They just need some attention.
    2. Sheridan is a bama grad. "nuff said
    3. Sheridan lost a ton of money on last year's Iron Bowl when Cam lead Auburn back to one of the biggest comebacks in history.....in tuscaloosa. He is still smarting.
    4. Sheridan said some news would come out today. Heard anything?
    5. The NCAA has no supoena power so does anyone believe a bagman, even if he existed, would come forward.
    6. And finally, are we to believe the NCAA would give inside info to a gambler.
    7. Sheridan said he was 50/50 sure something was coming down. Talk about CYA. C'mon Danny boy, make it 60/40 and I will bet you a lot of bucks.

What's sad is these kind of clowns get anyone to pay attention to them by spreading this kind of garbage. If Sheridan keeps it up, I'm going to post pictures of him banging a certain coach's daugter (LOL)

Or heck maybe I will just jump on the bandwgon and lob a liitle gem back at Danny boy. Note this is dated today. Maybe Sheridan got things confused.
