Your stadium. I see "Jordan-Hare" yet I always hear Jurden Hare, or Jerden Hare. Not a flame I am just curious, my Arkansas buddy and I were discussing it this weekend. If its not pronounced Jordan - What is the correct pronunciation and why. Thanks
it is pronounced like you hear them pronounce it. so not like as in air jordan. but like jerrden. not sure, that's just the way that guy pronounced his name. [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralph_Jordan]Ralph Jordan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]
Yes, it is "Jerdan Hare". It's named after the small, unimaginative Jerdan rabbits, who first came to the plains of Alabama when misplaced on a British HareWays flight. You can spot a Jerdan rabbit in rural areas by its receding hare line. It will also be wearing a fake BCS championship ring made of 14 carrot gold. Saturday will be a bad hare day for the Jerdans.
Sorry, Auburn. You can't just decide that a name is pronounced a different way from which it's spelled. I can't think of any other word in our language in which the "o" makes a sound similar to an "e". So it's Jordan, like His Airness. But I guess if the Aubies want to be consistent, they have to pronounce "corndog" like "kerndeg".
I think the name was changed after the last meeting there between LSU and Auburn. It's now called Jarett-Air Stadium.
Forget pronouncing the name of the stadium. What mascot are they using this weekend? Tigers? War Eagles? Plainsmen? ldskule:
