I picked this nice Bama post but read it at the very end. - corn dogs???? I had a ton of expectations when I left mobile yesterday morning at 6:30. I expected traffic to be terrible. I expected to drop 50 dollars at a minimum on concessions. I expected to be called tiger bait non stop Saturday. And I expected it to be ungodly loud. Soooooo 1) I arrived at Baton Rouge around 945-10. I didn't get in any rush. I was parked by the softball field within 20 minutes. Traffic was a breeze.2) for me and my nephew food costs was only about 30 bucks. Very very reasonable prices in and around the stadium. Thumbs up. 3) I've been to Jordan hare for the 2003 Ib and can say honestly auburn fans are 20x's worse than any lsu fans. There were a few jerks but every school has them. A few final thoughts. LSU has earned new respect with me. Their women are gorgeous. Their campus is gorgeous. They impressed me immensely yesterday. The only downside is that their needs to be a little updating to the satdium and yes.... tyeiy do smell like corn dogs.
You've never heard that dig? Bama are 'Gumps' and we're the 'corndogs' because that's what LSU fans supposedly smell like. The only problem with it, is it's unoriginal. I believe it used to be what OU fans called Nebraska fans or something like that and it was stolen from them and applied to us. Eiter way, it was lifted from another fan base. For some reason, they think it bothers us. I'll be glad to let someone smell me to prove I don't smell like a corn dog. I may smell like alot of things, but a corn dog ain't one of them.
I know what you mean. "Corn Dogs" as a derogatory term for LSU fans is akin to "Cracker" as a derogatory term for "whitey MFers."
You've got to be VERY young if you don't know of corn dogs yet?!? btw...this story originated from the Neb / OU rivalry.
Yeah, anyone that applies it to us are 'unoriginal bastids'. But, I'd rather be called a 'corndog' then a 'gump' any day. I know Bama fans HATE that.
Corn Dog - yeah! Name that movie (sorry - brief thread hijack)... Brett - we need a corndog emoticon!
The Telling of the LSU Corn Dog Story - Track Em Tigers A friend of mine sent me the corn dog story out of the Auburn blog. When I was at the AU/LSU game this year I saw a "coon ass trap" that had 3 corn dogs inside a rope hung from a tree. Kind of cute, but not a lot.
