What is Tubs thinking? He just gave up with 6 minutes left in the game. Tell me why in the hell would you still have 3 timeouts left as the game ends. You punt it with 6 mins left and down by 10 and you can't stop them from getting the 1st downs but elect to let the clock to run out as they score again and again.:insane:
Oh come on tirk. Not everybody is an LSU fan AND an awbrin fan. The LSU hybrid awbrin fan has sat here and wallowed in Bama's failures like two hawgs in a fresh mudhole. So now that awbrin has stubbed their toe the LSU not hybrid awbrin fans are doing a little wallowing. It's their turn. :thumb:
Jay Cutler said his arm is stronger than John Elway's. I don't know whether Cutler is humble or not but one thing is for sure. He's not very smart. :insane:
you shouldnt be mad at me because you thought cutler was being serious. and when i say he is a prick, that doesnt mean humble. now, as for my crimson blood -- ive never denied my role playing fantasies with sela ward which included coach bryant looking over our shoulders saying, "great pair says the bear."
I've been saying for years how much of a dumba$$ Tubb-o-chit is. He is a HORRIBLE coach and he couldn't be with a nicer team! :LSU231:
Yeah, Auburn looked worse last night than I've seen them in years. They actually looked like they were giving up. The defense was just letting guys pass them by. To think they were dominating the game early... Although the wheels may be falling off for Tubbs over there, he's not a horrible coach. He's given us a few of our worst beatings ever and has an SEC crown that should have given him a shot at the National Championship Game (13-0). Add in the six straight wins against Bama and the awesome record against highly ranked teams and you could put his record up against anyone's. Looks like the defensive coordinator could have been tossed with the offensive one (but Tubbs has to take blame for the D since he specializes in that area). Obviously Tony Franklin was not the issue. God knows he's laughing. By the way, West Virgina is unbelievably fast on offense. If they don't win the Big East, I'll be surprised.
Tubby is a decent coach, but nothing special. He's been there since '99 and has only won the West twice (only once since our turnaround in '01). There are 3 other coaches in the same division who has that many West Crowns in as many or fewer seasons. This during a time when Bama was down, neither Mississippi school was a serious threat, and Arky was wildly inconsistent. He should have grabbed at least 1 (maybe 2 or 3) more of those even year div titles.
Nutriatch, I would say that Tubbs is a very good coach. How many of those coaches you mentioned ever had a 13-0 season playing in the SEC? Or how many undefeated seasons did the great Steve Spurrier have playing in the SEC? He took a probation-hit Ole Miss team and turned them into a competitive and winning team almost right away. He kicked our azzes in the process a few times (that 1997 one after beating #1 UF really sticks out). He then went to Auburn and got them back on track in no time. Yes, he only has two divisional titles, but he's up against LSU in its Glory Years. Houston Nutt also has a few titles, but once again, he's a good coach (inconsistent, but good). Ole Miss was pretty good as well while Cutcliffe was there. We had to hold Ole Miss off to win the crown and NC in 2003. And Bama was somewhat down because a) they are cheaters b) Auburn was good and c) they didn't hire Tubberville. But even Bama was good at times. Shula had them up to #3 that one year. If not for LSU being pretty incredible, he would have a lot more crowns. He won two and tied for 1st three other times (likely all losses to us). But his record against top 10 and top 5 teams is about as good as it gets. Hell, he even beat Florida in their NC year. His teams are always very competitive and rarely get blown out (like last night). And I think he's been to 8 straight bowls (though that could end this year). So while they may be headed for some difficult times, you can't really argue with what he's done. He's not always been my favorite guy, but he's one of the best coaches out there.
