Attorney required by NCAA to charge players for services

    We were not on probation in the past.

    this. while i might not agree with pro bono legal counsel as being an improper benefit, we have to tiptoe the line at this point. it was a no brainer for the compliance department.

    If a lawyer provides legal services to the student population without charge, then he can provide it to student athletes for free. The key is that the student athlete is not provided anything that the student body can't get.

    However, in this case the compliance department probably required him to charge a fee just in case he had charged a fee to some students in the past. Again, being on probation with the Lyles and Shepard investigations ongoing, LSU can't afford to take any chances with the NCAA.

    This is so very true. The only time ive had issues with the law I had a public defender ( didnt defend nothing) he told me these exact words " YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"

    LOL...mine told me, "Just plead guilty, you probably won't go to jail."
