Dachsie, How far is it from College Station to Kileen? My grandson and his new bride are going to be stationed at Ft. Hood. I told him it was probably worth the drive to see A&M play than the drive to Waco to see Baylor.

I would say about 2 hours. Its 1.5 to Temple and I think Killeen is about 30 mins beyond that.

Thanks. In the event they aren't able to get tickets thru the Ft. Hood Special Services office, how easy is it to walk up & buy tickets outside the stadium. We play the Aggies there in November but that would probably be out of the question.

That is about right, the thing about Killeen is it's not real easy to get there. It may actually be less than that though, been a while since I've been in those parts.

There’s a road from Killeen to Georgetown that cuts about 20-30 min off the drive, but I still think Dachsies right, ~2+ hours for that drive. I lived in Round Rock and drove that route to Killeen everyday for about 4 years.

That would be 195 , when I was there it was off limits because there were so many fatalities on it. That gets you to Austin faster, pretty sure College Station is the opposite direction but I could be wrong.

yep, 195. i heard it was off limits, lots of fatalities, etc but never had any problems. i did get caught in a nasty hail storm at the edge of a tornado on 195 while driving a Miata. Had huge hail coming through my soft top, and about a thousand dings on my car - needless to say it was totaled. Felt like the world was ending during the 10min. I was getting hammered by that hail.
