790 is the AM sports station nobody in Atlanta listens to. It is a wonder that these assholes even got heard. I'm glad they got their medicine for this idiotic bit. The fact that they had to sit down and pen this is what is most sickening.

Former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason today addressed the antics of some Atlanta radio personalities now out of work, following their bit that featured a mock on-air interview with a Gleason impersonator.

"Regarding the DJ skit in Atlanta yesterday. I would like to thank the public for their support. 'Defend Team Gleason' now has been officially redefined," Gleason wrote on the Team Gleason Facebook page this afternoon. "Additionally, the DJs have provided genuine apology. Received and accepted. We have all made mistakes in this life. How we learn from our mistakes is the measure of who we are.

"I think everyone can learn from this event. Its clear to me that, on a national & global scale, ALS is not understood, which is part of why its under funded and largely ignored. In the past 36 hours lots of people have been talking. Lets talk about this... There are zero treatments for ALS. If you take any action as a result of this event, I prefer it to be action to end ALS. See what we are doing to change that @ teamgleason.org. SG"

Yes, Steve Gleason certainly seems like a class act.

Yesterday on WWL radio, a caller was saying how unfair the attack on Gleason was (and, no doubt, it was cruelly unfair) because he's unable to defend himself. I heartily disagree with the second part of her statement. Steve Gleason is many things -- a football player who made the absolute most of his limited physical abilities, an immortalized sports hero who almost single handedly started the Saints on their winning path after Hurricane Katrina, a father, an MBA holder, a published author, a world traveler and, since his ALS diagnosis, a true HERO who received a death sentence and kept right on living -- but he's not defenseless.

    No White Flags.

The Falcons are the Saints biggest rival yet I've never really encountered any Falcons fans like I have for LSU's rivals (Bama, AU, Florida, etc.). Maybe that's because I've never been to a Saints/Falcons game.

The internet trash talk that I've seen from Falcons fans has always been overly immature and a bit trashy (i.e. seemingly low class and uneducated folk). Not sure if that is representative of their typical fan or just the anonymous nature of the internet.
