They did have some run ins with Earnest T Bass. And once they busted a con artist who had everybody in town eating out of his hand except for Andy.
The police are a necessary evil. Nobody likes to see a police car in their rear view mirror but without them who is to stop the thugs from robbing, raping and killing whenever they feel like it? Oops! Bad example. They already rob, rape and kill whenever they feel like it but at least some of them get caught and removed from society.
There's bad one out there but overall, they are the good guys. Or at least were. I had an extensive amount of dealings with them in my younger years. I was a young kid with longish hair driving around cars and trucks with dealer plates (dad had a car lot back then). I used to get stopped 3-4 times a week (seriously). Most of them checked my DL/ID and paperwork and said have a nice night. I had one major asshole out of all those stops. Fucker wrote me an administrative ticket for using a dealer plated car for personal use. He was training a new officer that night. I still went to the store to get that milk for my mom and I got that ticket tossed.
Cops, like laws, only keep honest people honest. When you have nothing to lose, there is no fear of consequence. Human nature 101: Cost/Benefit analysis.
If every cop you know/meet is an asshole, what would you say is the common denominator in that scenario?
