We have a shot ! I don't care how many starters they have returning. We beat them before... priceless!!... like they ran into Polk Salad Annie ...made the alligators look tame...
20 = Michigan State 19 = North Carolina Still no SEC representative. Every year the SEC upper tier receives rankings high in the list but beat each other up and end up with several teams near the bottom of the top-25.
Out this morning, LSU at 17. Looks like we're not getting much respect, but after 8-5 last year and playing Fla at home, Ga and Bama on the road (while Bama and Ole Miss dodge Fla) it seems logical. not that I agree.
At least 13 other preseason polls have been released so far, and 17 is the worst ranking to date: 2009 preseason consensus poll
I'm just glad to see the Tigers back in the conversation. At 17, the pressure will be significantly less than a top-ten spot. That's good for player development. Teams come from out of nowhere every year. If LSU comes out in the first three games GUNS BLAZING, then we'll find our beloved team right back in the thick of things. And then if we beat Florida...we'll need a Shamwow to get the media drool off our jocks!
LSU has been ranked as high as 6 and as low as 17 in the major preseason polls so far. I'd put them somewhere around 11-12 with a projected 10-2 or 9-3 season. The schedule is rugged, the defensive staff is new, and the QB is untested. On the other hand, . . . the talent is there, Les is audacious, and LSU has gone to the SECCG in every odd year in this decade.
