Thanks caddy! I don't see anything to argue with in that article.

We've recruited well the last 3 years, and while we'll have to turn to untested guys at QB, LB, and CB, I expect they'll step up. We'll probably miss some assignments in the secondary early in the season, but I think it will be very interesting. Last season I picked us 11-1 regular season, this year 9-3 (that was before we lost RP, and I'm not changing it, I like both O and D lines).

I'm not that sold on K. Pittman. I think he's good, but he benefited a lot from Dorsey being out there.

I don't know. I think you're selling Pittman short. He was fantastic as a freshman, then endured that series of injuries that could've ended the careers of lesser guys. He was getting his feet under him last year, and I think he'll have a very solid "final" senior year.

yup, i thought the author nailed it with is comment about winning in the trenches. Just speculating, but I have a feeling that Miles is going to revisit his roots this year and really dial-in the running attack. Crowton may be a wizard in the aerial game, but with a solid and deep OL, and plenty of stud RB's, there's no reason why the rushing game shouldn't consider steamrolling the majority of its competition. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see KW have a breakout year and get some Heisman love.

I'm not quite as sold as the author on LSU's defense this season, but I can easily respect what they are capable of achieving.

BTW - I've got LSU ranked 5 in my poll.

Hey, where's Auburn found in Athlon's ratings. That's really what you wanted to show us. We're proud that Auburn is rated so high, it's good for the SEC. :hihi:

I don't put much stock in Athlon, because they rarely "nail" the Tigers in the preseason. But they always make a decent read, because they give another perspective.

They weren't stupid enough to take LSU out of the Top 10 at least.

I bet you and all the Auburn gang including that guy who sits on your sideline wearing the hat-with-the-really-huge-ears that gives his OL the orders to take Dorsey's knees out are just licking your chops for Game 4 of LSU's season at Auburn.

I wonder who Tubberville is gonna have chopped in 2008. He's resorted to these tricks as Lester really has his number, and he doesn't like that. You know, he doesn't like having a "daddy" like Miles. He'll soon have another in-state daddy, but that's another story. Lester and his damn strong team really has Tubberville's number. You won't find that in Athlon, because they're hedging their bets this year, and they all remember 2004, and so do you, which is why we're reading this post. So, Good luck this season. You'll need it.

Kirston is good, he's just not spectacular like some people think.

He had better stats than Tyson Jackson, but thats because teams preferred to run towards Pittman than Jackson.

I think we will see Pittman more on passing downs than as an every-down type of DE... Thats why RJF will be playing DE as well... Expect to see Favorite or Woods to come in on early/running downs and slide RJF out to DE... Pittman will come in as more of a pass-rush specialist...

    Having...
    DE - Jackson (6'5" 290)
    DT - Woods/Favorite (6'5" 325/6'1 310)
    DT - Alexander (6'3" 295)
DE - RJF (6'3" 281) Dude was 245 outta high school... He is a beast.)
... Is a scary combination for defenses to try to run against...
