of course the students leave earlier. half of them dont go to the game for the "game." it has always happened , it always will. they are students and want to be with their friends, whether they follow football or not. students will never value a ticket as much as someone that paid more for it.
They make it more difficult to get rid of student tickets every year, and $25 bucks to give it to a friend from out of town. Most would rather take a free extra off a season ticket holder. If something comes up a day or two before the game there is nothing you can do but sit on your ticket or find someone that can pass using your id.
No doubt about it. This has always happened. But I can definitely understand the frustration from others that can't believe these students are doing this. You don' t know what you have until it's gone. When they get out in the "real world" and tickets become harder to come by or they have to start paying for them themselves (instead of mommy and daddy footing the bill) they'll look back and probably say "What a moron I was not to soak up as much of the game as I could."
The student tickets have your name on it but anyone with an LSU ID can use them. So you'll see a lot of students selling tickets to other students. You can upgrade your student ticket to a non-student for a fee but I think they already ran out of upgrades this year, at least for the Bama and UGA game.
Unless they changed from last year the name on the ticket and id had to match. You had to get online and transfer it over a couple of days before the game and reprint, think it also cost a dollar. How big of a pain they make it to sit with non-students in the section is what annoys me, is the limit or such high cost really necessary?
It is frustrating, but that goes for everything in life. Maturation is a wonderful thing, but it is equally annoying to watch someone go through it.
Last year I went to two games with someone else's student ticket and swiped my ID to get in. I don't think it matters...or didn't for me
It's LSU's fault, not the students' fault that there are empty seats in the student section. Not only do you have to go through the ticket office to transfer a ticket, but you have to do it by 5pm the Friday before gameday if I remember correctly. It used to be that anyone with a student ID could use a student ticket, so the student section was always packed.
I propose that the entire stadium be photographed each game with hi-def photography, hire some minions to count, then the account holder for every empty seat should be forced to pay a hefty fine the following year for every kick-off at which the seat was empty. Students exiting the stadium after the game should be given some sort of extra-credit or financial incentive. We would be assured that the correct students were receiving credit by tattooing a serial number on their heads. problem solved
