Re: Morris Claiborne Commits This is unsubstantiated of course, but the rumblings I've heard regard the class from 2 years ago, and guys like Phelon Jones and Stefan Francois feeling left behind once we started playing freshmen like Hatcher and Peterson over them.
Re: Morris Claiborne Commits Apparently the only promise our coaching staff has given any recruit is an opportunity to compete for playing time. There are no guarantees someone won't come in that outperforms you. And there is no record from any recruit saying different. I am excited about all of our recruits and look at the depth chart hoping everyone will get a chance to play, but am much more concerned with the best players winning adequate playing time. Nothing in either Hatcher or Peterson's performance has indicated a poor decision on the part of the coaches. If we lose some db's because of that, it will be in everyone's best interest.

The competition at this level of college football is unbelieveable and not everyone is going to play. Some kids can handle that better than others. That said, I really thought that Phelon Jones and Stefon Francois would both contribute this year, especially Francois. He (Francois) was so highly touted when recruited and now has basically disappeared. Overrated or just beaten out? Seems like others are better. Same with P. Jones. I thought he would be a regular DB this year and it hasn't happened. Just goes to show how things can change and evolve in so many different ways on a football team. I hope we don't lose anyone, but in any case I hope the best needs of the team are served. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

Re: Morris Claiborne Commits There really aren't any other guys on the board at CB. Gabe Lynn is going to Oklahoma, Kirkpatrick is going to Alabama, Branden Smith is going to Georgia..Claiborne was the only guy I can think of that we had a shot with at CB and we got him.
