If he's already enrolled.. anyone have an idea of what he's weighing in at now? I'd have to assume he's between 170-175 now that he's in our weight program.

Wow, this surprises me. I haven't seen any video of him, but hear he is fast. He is definitely very thin for an every down SEC back. Some guys are short and more powerfully built (like Dalton Hilliard) with good leg drive, but his pics look like his legs are thin. I can't imagine he would have a lot of power. Anyone seen any video of him?

Looks like a hell of a slot receiver/scat back. The best part about him is that he has the frame to put on quite a bit of muscle. I don't think he'll struggle getting to 190ish by his junior year. (Which is slightly smaller than Percy Harvin, for measurements sake)

For the record Percy is very strong for his size. The announcers during the championship game if I remember correctly claimed he benched close to 400.

Yeah, he's a physical freak. I was just using him as an example as how big I expect Calhoun to be.

190 sounds about right, especially if they redshirt him.

With him enrolling early and him being a workout freak he might be 190 by the summer.

I just watched some video of him. A lot of his plays were very wide sweeps with him already in motion getting a pitch. He didn't receive the pitch in many instances until he was already on the edge of the tackle box. This let him clear all the inside congestion most of the time and he simply ran around the end until someone tackled him. He seemed to have trouble cutting without slowing up considerably. I really didn't see great cutback or elusive ability. One piece of scouting information said he was a straight line runner and I concur. He didn't shift into top notch speed until he was past the last man in many instances. He didn't exhibit extraordinary power, which we all figured he wouldn't have anyway. To tell you the truth I was a little disappointed. He is fast, but not Seastrunk fast--he doesn't play extremely fast and isn't that shifty from what I saw. I actually think Shep would make a better RB, but only time will tell. The highlights are limited plays and can only show so much. Hopefully he will be much better than anticipated at RB. Our RB's coach or Miles obviously see something special that I am missing or not privy to. Take a look and give an opinion.
Anyone think I am totally off base?

I watched two of his HS games last season and from what I saw the straight-line runner label is apt. He's fast but didn't really break many tackles or make anyone miss. A HR threat for sure but he needs space to be really effective.

Are you a bit skeptical about him making it as an SEC back?
