Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU Yeah the kid said back in February he wanted to play the WR position. We have at least 11 CBs with Janzen Jackson heading into the Fall. Claiborne is in a similiar position.
Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU Claiborne got his 3rd star today on rivals.com. #58 ranked athlete. I can't remember how many athletes were ranked 4 star, I think it was about 30 or so. So he is in the upper half of the 3 star commits that are rated as athletes. LSU's overall average star rating goes from 3.86 to 3.90. 2nd best only to USC's 3.94.
Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU They have a similar build. I would say that Drayton probably has a higher top-level speed, while DeBose is more explosive & has better moves in the open field.
Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU Just like the Deangelo thing, I'm starting to get Claiborne and Calhoun mixed up... and I blame it on Uptown New Orleans streets. Or is it those Louisiana history classes.
For what it's worth: On LSUSports.net, both on his profile page and on the 2009 roster, we have Calhoun listed as a running back. Morris Claiborne is listed as an athlete.
Calhoun looks like he would make a nice little slotback..you get him out in space like the Saints use Reggie Bush and he is going to do some serious damage.
That may be because he was a RB in high school. Scout has him projected to play CB, but who knows. If we think we can get Seastrunk next year he would probably be the scatback that would replace Holiday. Seastrunk is extremely fast in his videos compared to his competition.
Miles also mentioned at the bash that the staff is going to start him off at RB and they think he will be very good at the spot.
His ESPN scouting report says: He projects well as a college running back. ... He displays good vision, excellent body control and a natural feel for running back, but he's versatile, athletic and sure-handed enough to play in the slot. http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recr...ng/tracker/player?recruitId=57286&season=2009
