Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU Drayton officially on his way to LSU and ready to sign. http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/s...uit/entries/2009/01/08/tuckers_calhoun_3.html
Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU Great news. Anyone know of who else we can expect to enroll early? And how does that work with their scholarships? Since they are enrolling before the date they can legally sign LOI's, are they eligible to go on scholarship immediately, or are they on their own financially until the fall semester?
Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU Great article on the subject. I read this a while back and was lucky enough to be able to find it after reading this thread. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/20050418-9999-1s18forty.html
Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU That is a good article. It sounds like his 40 yard time is legit.. his laser time is right where it should be compared to his hand timed.. I'm more interested in his 'football speed' which is clearly the real deal viewing his film. And his shuttle time.
Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU How about we get him into the slot position? How the hell do we mix in Calhoun, Shepard and Holliday into the offense? I think all of these early enrollees will end up playing their true freshman season. Good luck Gary Crowton, that's your problem.
Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU Someone care to compar Calhoun to Debose? Are the similar? Would they be used in the same way?
Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU Well he played RB in high school. But at 6' 173 lbs, he won't be seeing any PT at the true RB spot. He will be used as a Trindon Holliday type at the very minimum. I just hope he can develop into a true slot receiver who is on the field more times than not. But all of that is predicated on the fact he doesn't end up playing CB.
Re: Drayton Calhoun commits to LSU Not sure where he is going to play but he says the coaching staff is starting him off on offense because he wanted a shot to prove himself. Would love to see him on D as well and that is where I predict he will spend most of his career at LSU. However, if he lights it up on offense all bets are off.
