Miles has never made that motion when a receiver has been down in the past. It is too obvious that he is calling for a spike.

Ask yourself have you ever seen that display of body jiration from Miles before? He would have been going after an official if it was about the player being down. Not doing it up and down the sidelines.

He is a "deer in the headlights".......

Are you an expert on Miles' bodily gyrations?

If so...that's cool, but some of us prefer to watch the Golden Girls.

this was the 1st time i've ever even LOOKED at what he was doing on the sideline.

when I watch a game, i watch the players, officials, clock, and cheerleaders.

don't really care if coach is dancing a jig, praying to Budha, or reading a pop-up book.

what I do know is that when a ball pops out in a situation like that, an official comes running onto my screen making a very similar motion to what miles was doing.

that also is the motion QBs use to signal to team to "clock it", though usually not as exaggerated.

which one of those was he signaling? hell if i know.
how much sleep have i lost pondering this question? exactly zero.

I'm with you frogleg. All indications are that he's the one that directed JJ to clock it only to throw him under the bus when reality set in and he realized it was a boneheaded decision. When he's skipping down the sideline with his back turned as the 'clock it' play is unfolding and his explaination of the coaches thinking process days later...things just don't add up. He was not being truthful in his explanation. If he would have been honest he would have, at the same time, had no choice but to resign since a big time coach making what he's making would have called such a boneheaded play preceeded by several other boneheaded plays, along with failure to call timeout. Mass confusion prevailed and he lost a very winnable game with his lack of management. He has been exposed!

I'm with both of you guys too. Like I said before, I accept his explanation. I just don't necessarily believe it. Miles' public face is in full damage control mode.

I accept it because it's TOTALLY out of character for Miles to hang out any one of his players or coaches to dry. I'm sure Jefferson and the team got "the real" explanation.

That's why I think the team is rallying behind their coach.

I'm not forgetting it, but am moving on. (I needed a new TV anyway!).

He's our coach. He didn't lose to UAB nor ULM. He made a mistake, but he's our coach. I'm disappointed too. I live out of state & I get poked at alot about this. He's been successful, so it shouldn't be that hard to just get behind him.
