mlb.com is showing Reyes starting on 3 days rest Interesting....so LaRussa dont mind taking a chance on having to play the Monday game, in which Carpenter would still be unavailable until game #3, plus no rest going into the playoffs

Heck of a run by the Astros to end the season. It was a gamble today by the cardinals, but pitching todays game by committee at least gives us a fighting chance in the first round of the playoffs.
Neither one of these teams are very good. The Stros finally found some offense late in the season. The Cardinals have had so many injuries etc this year that its pretty incredible that they did win the division. I know the division is bad but winning the division is winning the division. I think the 3 starters Weaver, Carpenter and Suppan are both all bitching better as of late. They may have a fighting chance of atleast getting past the first round.
