Saw this article on espn.com and thought it was interesting. I knew it wouldn't be cheap to lure Weiss from the NFL and everyone knows you need top assistants to win, but this is the 1st time I've ever heard of assistant coaches making more than their boss. Edit: For some reason, when I try posting the link to the article, it comes up as a the video below. For those that want to read it, it's sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6159625 [ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6159625"]Florida's assistant coaches' salaries total more than head coach Will Muschamp - ESPN[/ame]
Don't see what the big deal is. None of his assistants make more than him. Weis is the highest paid assistant and will earn 765k this year while Muschamp is getting 2.93 million.
!!!!! To me, this is the bigger story. Had to be difficult to justify that kind of salary on nothing but potential.
I guess it was a misleading article by ESPN. Go figure. It's so unlike them to do something like that. /sarcasm off They made it sound like the coaches were making more than he was. I guess they're talking about the combined salaries of all them, which you're right, it isn't that big of deal.
