I think location might have something to do with it. Growing up I'd never seen an electric cook too yet they are everywhere up here. I hate cooking on them and when the glorious day is upon me and I get to finally have my own apartment or house it will be gas.

Dude, not that hard to put gas in your house. Many times, if you dont have gas to your home, if you will call the gas company and tell them you are converting your water heaters to gas, they will bring a gas line to your house for free.

Did you have to buy a lot of equipment?

I was thinking if you heated water to the right temperature and poured it i to one of those round 5 gallon coolers like they use for drinking water and put tbe steaks in an then seal it with the lid it should stay the same temperature long enough to cook the steaks.

There is a sous vide device you need to have. I don't have it yet - my uncle cooked them this way when I went to AZ for Christmas.

I can't imagine how, it is basically boiling them but the water is kept at a steady temp. Boiled food sucks. It has no color, the texture is terrible and I really like grill marks and the crispy outside that you get from either throwing meat on a grill or a hot skillet.

You better not invite too many over, you only got about 2 servings in there. When I do gumbo I usually never have a big enough pot!

I would've thought just the opposite. With colder temps/ power outages, I would think more people, would go gas.
