This birth certificate is going to be a huge issue now for the summer. If the White House thinks that the issue is going away they are lost and confused. But just to use your language....he has not shut them up at all. He has given them more ammunition. He should have just pleaded the fifth, so to speak.

Even Trump said something like, "I hope it proves to be authentic". All the anti-Obama people have to do is cast doubt on the certificate. They are already all over it....supposedly it has layers that show it was edited in PhotoShop, the issuing number is higher than babies born after Obama and there is no stamp on it, etc. I personally don't care whether he was born in Hawaii or not. The American people were stupid enough to vote for him so they can't back out of it now but the White House staff is idiotic for putting this out. They can only lose now. If it is authentic he looks weak and if it is proven to actually be a forgery then all hell will break loose. The President is not required to win every argument....they should have ignored it.

I agree with you....they will never be satisfied which is why it is so stupid to open up the debate again. He is already in the White House. He won. He should just shut up about it. Would it increase doubt about 9/11 if Congress announced a new investigation? Or would people be satisfied "we are going to get the facts straight"? It would start the whole thing all over again. That's why I can't believe they put this thing out. It's like in sales....if the customer has decided to buy then shut up and let him sign on the dotted line. Quit talking....it can only hurt.
