Gary gets canned again. I'm really kind of starting to feel bad for the guy. It's got to be pretty tough to get fired from Canadian football. I mean, how does a Canadian know when a football team is sucking? He's like Craig from "Friday", getting fired on his day off. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/football/c...-winnipeg-blue-bombers-fire-gary-crowton.html
Ha. Head coach says: "Our offence has not played up to their standards and we need to make this change in order to give us a chance at remaining in the hunt for the post-season. I wish Gary all the best in his future endeavours." Crowton had it all wrong. He was trying to coach an offense, not an offence.
Even the CFL knew he sucked after only one season and change, yet somehow he managed to say employed at LSU pretty much as long as any stop he's had during his illustrious career. From an article on his firing after a 1-6 start this season: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...c-gary-crowton-after-sixth-loss-of-the-season
Here is the Crowton Offensive Philosophy: If a play is successful once, tear the play out of the playbook, burn it, and permanently erase if from memory. The opposing defense will always see it coming and will defend it perfectly. If a play is unsucessful, keep running it. The opposing defense will never see it coming, due to its lack of previous success. Eventually, it will work, at which point it must then be abandoned permanently.
We set LSU offensive record in his first year here. IMO, that buys him at least one bad year. With that said, I think he was canned a year too late here.
