I emphatically agree with every word of this. We beat them with a QB that had very limited reps on the season at the time. We abandoned our gameplan and changed course on the fly, yet we still walked away with the W. Since that time, our offense has evolved and matured, and we've got a very special young talent that has proven he can run the ball on the toughest of defenses. We finished the season with a ridiculous amount of momentum and swagger, actually improving upon the intensity that we maintained throughout the year.

bama, on the other hand, is really the same team that we saw in the first match-up. You could even say that they didn't finish the season as dominantly as they started it. They peaked on 11/5; we merely began to peak on that day.

Agreed & well put. We also cannot afford a moment's sleepwalking (as we've done several times this year, most recently and noticeably at the SECCG); 'Bama will not let us mosey along till the 2nd half. The team will need 2nd half intensity throughout all four quarters! :geaux:

Red, five generations for me. Agree with you on the most talented, best coached, deepest, focused, size, ability, brains and focus, and scary fast. I can't think of a better way to put it.

Going into the season I consistently had to remind a co-worker of mine that Bama was a more dangerous team last season. We always know that Saban is going to bring a stout Defense to the table, he's a great defensive coach, and that's what he lays his hat on.

We took Bama down in 2010, with a team that fielded, an experienced senior Championship game tested QB in McElroy, top 10 pick Julio Jones, 1st Rd pick Mark Ingram, top five pick in Marcel Darius, and (should and fail to mention) Trent Richardson (yes I do recall he had to leave that game for injury).
Point being, due to the NFL draft and graduation, their team got weaker, and our team got stronger, faster, and more hungry for Tiger Bait.

People should know that this LSU team is way too complete to be beaten by a team that only beings one threat to the table. Trent Richardson is their only threat. Our team is too mean, fast and determined to be taken out by one guy.

Even in the Nov 5, game, most of our grandparents would have 50 of Richardson's receiving yards on two of those passes. Trust me, i'm not hating, the dude is a superior talent at the possesion. The problem lies in the fact that LSU brings superior talent to every possesion on the field. And man for man, they can't compete. I also trust that Chavis is to0 experienced to let the same situation surface on January 9th.

Many people bring up the missed field goals, and the woulda's and the coulda's, but in order to have a championship team, you need a chamionship kicker. Plenty of men walk this earth with rings obtained on the toes of the most under recognized players in sports. The kicker. Brady doesn't have one ring (let alone 3) without Adam V, neither does Peyton, and the list is pointless to continue if you've watched any football in your life.

If their kicker had bubble guts on Nov. 5, i'll just step aside and let y'all do the math for Jan 9, 60 miles down the road from the Red Stick, in the Dome, with all the marbles on the line. Literally!!!

Yeah... And if Rueben would have caught that touch down, and if Lee didn't hand them two drives, and if our defense would have remembered to cover their best player on the field coming out of the backfield, and if Jefferson would have led Shepard to the end zone..... And if Peterson would have held his block on the quick screen to Beckham. ....And if we would have scored from the one right before half.. And if Michael Ford hadn't stepped out of bounds, we would have beaten Bama 58-3.

I'm smelling a blowout ladies and gentlemen.

I don't ever say we can't lose, because Saban is a great coach, and we aren't bringing the most reliable QB's to the table.
But man for man, across the board, I think Bama is going to realize that they got off on the wrong exit of Interstate-10 come January 10th.

People thought I was insane when I had the same feeling about the Saints/ Colts Super Bowl. I predicted we'd win by 20. We came close.

And I've got a gut feeling that this one aint gonna be close.:tigereye:

We're a better team than they are. Period. Maybe after if we beat them 3 times in a row everyone will shut the  up about it.

    P.S.

Still knowing that we were two plays away (A Cam Netwon Miracle Run, and a Mallet miracle pass) from being undefeated in 2010 is still a bit mind blowing.

On November 5, the world took a taste of that special gumbo Les Miles has brewing down in Baton Rouge.
On January 9th, I have a great feeling that the rest of the world is going to get their own bowl and spoon.
And the world of college football shall never be the same!

McCoy played for Texas. McElroy is the guy you're looking for.:yelwink2:

But I agree with just about everything else in your post. :thumb:

With over a month for Miles to prepare this team, Krags to work with the QBs, Chavis to figure out his defensive scheme, and with over a month for everyone to get healthy and come in 100%... the Tigers will not be denied.
LSU will bring to Baton Rouge its 3rd crystal in 9 years, and the Dynasty will be complete and only getting stronger in the seasons yet to come.
The gumps don't want to face this team, and on Jan. 9th the Tigers will roll the tide back to BFE Tuscaloserville where they belong. Whether it's by 1 pt. or 21 points... LSU will be a consensus National Champion, the best CFB has ever seen.

    Geaux Tigers!!! :tigereye:
