I sit in full confidence of those Tigers. I don't think my birth given biological functions have generated a grain of nervousness in anticipation of this game. I may sound cocky and overblown, but the facts are, we've beaten them twice in a row, and not many players on this team have any fear of the Crimson Helmet with the white stripe. I say again, we've beat them twice in a row. And despite the hype and the Bama lovers (not hating, there just appears to be some magical football dust that overwhelms a majority of media heads, because their conventional wisdom disappears when Miles and Saban go head to head). A blind betting man, would hear the statistics and take the Tigers again. I say it again, we've beaten them twice in a row. Miles has a better win percentage over the same time span, and a better record in head to head matchups. Yes, Nick has two rings and Les has one, but let's not underestimate what Miles did to turn around the mess that was Oklahoma state. And Nick had the luxury of playing and recruiting some of Louisiana's best (as Les does now). So the theory that Saban is some how light years ahead of Miles in the aspect of being a great coach is bogus in opinion. Do you guys hear me, we've beaten them twice in a row. While our coach is guilty of being over the top ballsy, and a bit off schedule:grin:, Saban suffers from pychocommunism, and freaks out under the self created-pressure, and panics when things don't go exactly as planned. Which then seeps its way into his entire team. I'll take the cool guy over the angry guy any day. Especially if the cool guy has beaten the angry guy more than he has lost to him. I am a big believer in Karma. I also recall Saban bolting from a great school and a fan base like no other in a not so up-front fashion. And what a day it will be to see the look on Saban's face, as the clock is ticking down for the workers to set up the stage, that Les will stand on to hold up his second BCS trophy will be a sight to remember. To lose in a big game, to the school you scorned, and in the same building where you won your first would be classic. Truth is often stranger than fiction. Have no fear, I Repeat: We've beaten them twice. What will they say if the Mad Hatter takes down Saban and the time three times in a row. P.S. The reason why this will be so fun can be traced to this: We know that out team is beyond stacked for the future (and considering what we've won 24 of our last 26 with below average QB play has to be commended. More importantly, we know Les is classy enough, in both character and leadership to be capable of handling a loss. Nick may never recover. I repeat: We've beaten them twice in a row!! :tigereye::crystal::tigereye: Geaux Tigers P.S.2. If you know of anyone that is making Championship Game hype videos, let me know, I need one. I have the perfect song..:tigereye:
we have good QG play We have had good QB play from both . Les went the wrong direction in the the Bama game . That is the only game we did not get a TD in right ? Did we get to the 20 yard line in that the 1st game ?? I It seems like Miles is trying to make "History " now . It may backfire after all Bama is all you say , and yet they stand head and shoulders with LSU above any other team in college football today . It was not an easy win the 1st game , and it will not be easy to win this "THE REMATCH"
I appreciate your confidence. Though my confidence in this team is as strong as ever, I am not as certain in a victory after witnessing the first half of the Georgia game. That is something that should have never happened to a team of this caliber. You can throw the records and stats out the door for this game in my opinion. It will be a dogfight from beginning to end. If LSU plays up to it's talent level, we will be the Champions. :crystal::crystal::crystal:
Nothing worthwhile is easy. I've been watching LSU football for almost 4 decades and this team is the most talented, best coached, deepest, and most clearly focused LSU team I have ever seen. They are big, athletic, smart, strong and scary fast. The coaches adapt quickly and effectively during the game. If Bama has what it takes to beat this team, they deserve the title. Don't hold your breath.
It comes down to this for me: I think we got Bama's best game on 11/5. Their defense was as good as advertised. Richardson ran with authority. McCarron was about who we expected. Their faults that night lay mostly in in-game coaching decisions. OTOH, I think we've got more to show Bama than what they got on 11/5. The Hat played it very conservatively. We did not throw the ball as well as we were capable. To repeat myself from another thread; we have the wild card offensively in Hilliard, who should play a prominent role in the Re-Do Bowl. Even defensively, we gave their receivers too much room, allowing them to sustain drives and field position. Come Jan. 9, this emoticon: !twocrystals! will need an update.
I spent a half hour yesterday talking to my dad on the phone about these very points. The three of us agree!:crystal::crystal::crystal::milesmic:
Bama is no slouch. Had we not been on the schedule, they would be considered one of the better teams of the last decade. They have basically done what we have this season, but unfortunately for them, they ran into the Hat. They are a well-oiled machine, but play robotic like their coach. Let's put all doubt away.
