Article on Tough SEC

For instance, before the change of heart, I might have questioned why Georgia and Florida are even in the national title discussion. Surely, this would include pointing out that both claim LSU as their best victory, then a sarcastic aside about how the Tigers have yet to beat a quality opponent.

But, you see, the Tigers play in the SEC, and that means they are good even when it's not readily apparent.

Here's how it works: if there is some question about why a seemingly so-so one-loss team is held in high regard, check the conference affiliation. If it's the SEC, the team certainly is better than it appears; if it's another league, the team can be easily dismissed.

With LSU, this means you must look closer to see why it's actually a very good team. For one, the Tigers play really good defense. It's how they became the best two-loss team in the nation last season.

Some haters might bring up the 103 combined points Florida and Georgia just put on the Tigers. But that just speaks to the greatness of the Gators and Bulldogs — against teams from any other league, it might have been 200 points.

I think he was asking a legitimate question, not trying to imply anything.

I see that, I was just messing with him about the article, but yes, he does write with alot of sarcasim.

Yeah, I thought the article was pretty amusing. I definitely feel the SEC is the best conference, but the gap is not as big as many would like to think.

The obvious argument to make for the SEC is that in the 10 BCSCG's the SEC is 4-0, with 3 different teams winning it. No other conference has a winning record in the title game.

The winner of the FL GA game will start getting quite a bit of press, in terms of a possible BCSCG birth.
