I thought he showed respect, " Julio is one of the best", and payed up his team, not himself. His boasts seemed to be about the secondary unit to me.

Not only did I like what he said, he was balls on accurate.

its not, but it will be turned and twisted into it.

peterson gives jones every bit of respect for being the best at his position. but he also shows a self-confidence that he can not only keep up, but stop jones. that confidence will be twisted into arrogance. i fully believe the gumps will use any little thing they can. they have to. they know this isnt a cupcake game.

If they do, it will be because they are looking for something. Peterson is no RJF, he can back up what he is talking about while being respectful of the talent Jones has.

The one thing Nick Saban knows is defensive backs, I am sure he knows the capabilities of Patrick Patterson. They can make that mistake of throwing the ball his way too many times this game if they would like. It should be a great matchup though.

there was a caller last week on 1210 that said "Nick Saban would eat a newborn baby on the 50 yard line if he thought it would give him a competitive advantage."

I think Hawkins is extremely underrated. I see very few mistakes made and that's with being under the pressure of having the job of CB opposite Peterson. He's a big guy who can/will hit as well. He just lacks elite footspeed, but he makes up for it in other areas.

That being said, I hope that Peterson shadows Jones the entire game...

I like it, like most have said respectful but confident, not arrogant. This guy has been my favorite since he arrived. Hearing about his work ethic really impressed me. Getting up early to run routes and coverage schemes shows his head is in being better every game. Seems like he and RS have the same desire and thirst to get better. Mine you I am not taking away from any of our guys but you gotta love the dedication. Hope they inspire all to work hard like that.
