LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson will try to stop Alabama's Julio Jones | LSU Tigers Central - - NOLA.com Tease: ""He (Wholio Jones) probably has the potential to do it, but come Saturday I don't think it will happen," Peterson said. "That may be against any other team, but not us. I mean, he is a talented guy, but I believe we're probably the best secondary in the country."
Well Patrick, i really don't like it when people toot their own horn, but i can't say i disagree with you.
If he puts up, I don't care who's horn he toots, but usually I agree with you. Although, I must say I like the confidence.:geaux: :LSU231:
In the article it explains how Wholio got away from him and had the first down to win the game. Peterson has a bitter taste in his mouth and I think he is going to play for that...he seems like the type of player that has tons of emotion and will hold that grudge to make him better.
I don't mind this kind of talk. He's respectful and tells it how he sees it. It's more of "He's good but we're gonna be better" than "oh that dude sucks and nobody can touch me." I like this guy more and more every day.
it seems hard to qualify his statement as confident when all he is saying is that jones wont score a TD on every catch.
I don't mind a little arrogance if you can back it up, and he definitely can back it up. But Patrick, please don't speak for Chris Hawkins or Jai Eugene, i almost wish we could morph the 2 into 1 defensive back. Chris Hawkins has exactly what Jai doesn't and Jai has exactly what Chris doesn't. Chris is a good cover guy, but doesn't really make good plays on the ball (exception is the great pick he made against auburn i know i know), and is not a great tackler. Jai is a great tackler, makes plays on the ball, but can't cover without falling down.
