Completely baffled by the obstacles that prevent Harris from getting on the field. The answer to me is simple: go out and put your effort into landing a top notch quarterback for the team. One of the singlemost important players on that field is the QB. He is the profile position, he is the commander and the figurehead for the team. So why would you not put a very serious, concentrated effort into landing the best person at this position? Jennings is a 3rd string, maybe a 2nd string. If Harris is not 1st string material, then sit his ass on the bench and go get another one. Stop taking the "he's good enough" approach to dealing with your most important position. Outside of Mettenberger, I don't think this staff has put a heck of a lot effort into attracting the type of talent at QB that could be a difference maker. Or at least when they do, they put his butt on the bench so the guy that got here first can under deliver on the field. We've seen this movie before with Les and I'm not sure the ending is going to change. With that in mind I'm buying stock in Crown Royal. I have a feeling that a lot of pain relief will be needed in Baton Rouge for the next couple of years.
Supposedly he's immature which is likely but you will always hear rumors when there are no actual answers.
Wow, I don't need an interpreter to comprehend that quote: "Miles was at a loss to explain the proceedings, which included the Tigers’ first shutout in a regular season game under Miles and an offense that has produced all of two touchdowns in its last 12 quarters. “I don’t know what’s going on there,” Miles said when asked about an offense that managed 36 rushing yards on 32 attempts and a second straight passing output of less than 90 yards. “Offensively, we struggled yet again,” he said." http://www.shreveporttimes.com/story/sports/college/lsu/2014/11/17/miles-explain-loss/19156331/
If the laziness with Harris is true, it probably came out in the recruitung process. And If that's the case why recruit someone who takes important aspects of the position lightly. Is Harris another prima donna that thinks he is above hard work? It's gotta be Leslie and his style of offense has got good qbs looking elsewhere. and because he is like a mother the prima donnas think they'll have it made.
Miles doesn't know what to look for when looking for the best qb. He wouldn't know a good qb if it were tigertaps vagina draped across his booger infested nostrils. Mettenberger was an easy get under the circumstances, the homework was already done.
This is very similar to a discussion we had in the off-season when Town decommitted. In fact, I think @LSUDad brought Saban's record with QB's this past week. I'll add to that the same point I did with the Town thread—how many QB's has Spurrier recruited that have panned out in his time at UofSC? It's easy to lay the blame at the head coach. However, the problem I see isn't the head coach of the college program, but the guy at the high school level. With the changes we've seen happen in high school ball over the past 10-15 years where so many are running an offense featuring their best athlete at QB, not their best QB, the talent pool for a true pro-style quarterback is more of a small puddle. If we look at passing efficiency as a barometer, how many pro-style QB's do we see in the top ten? Two? Kessler and Hundley are the ones that come to mind. Pardon the language, the the old adage of "chicken shit and chicken salad" comes to mind.
