As far as a QB all his job is ,is to win games . Big games and nothing games . His speed on his feet means nothing , if he cannot get the ball to the right player who can not only make 1st downs but TD's . One who can think while running on his fast feet . We cannot call some plays because the QB cannot do them , so we run left on 1st , then on 2nd we run a bit off right or left . Then on 3rd and long. We hold our breathe and hope for a pass that works .We need a QB who can manage the game .
With what we have .We need to be running a verson of the single wing /and the wishbone mixed together , LOL, oh heck, what do I know ?? I am just a guitar picker .
I do not know what we need , maybe just play it by ear . Because what we are doing now . It is worse than the Country Music they are making in Nashville Now .

If our Tigers beats Texas A&M this is what we will see and hear

{Just look up to the sky
Bet you will see pigs flying over the moon .
    And some drunk will say
    Elvis"The King"has walked back N the room}

    GEAUX TIGERS !!! GEAUX !!!!

It wouldn't hurt so bad if more people opened their eyes earlier.

Its been this way for years now.

The question to ask is what's the deal with Harris? Why hasn't he received any significant playing since Auburn?

On one hand, is he truly just not ready to take the reigns (he himself has alluded to this -- in a recent tweet he said that he needs to work harder -- I posted it on the forum around the time he posted it, I just can't find it right now to post it here). So, if he's not ready, is it a situation at this point that the coaching staff doesn't want to put him in a situation where he would be set up to fail? As many have said, it is quite difficult to get a QB up to speed during the season, especially considering the SEC West gauntlet that teams have to go through.

On the other hand, is there something else going on with him that we don't know about? Is he in the doghouse for some reason? Again, based on tweets of his, he seems to look up to and respect Miles.

The entire situation is just so bizarre. Obviously, Miles wants to win games, and knows he needs to continue to win consistently if he wants to keep his job ultimately. Or, as the writer of this article states, is Miles on the downslope of his career, and incapable of recruiting and developing a QB? This is the frustrating part, in that when you look at other teams, many of which who can either insert a freshman QB into the lineup right away, or have someone in their system who can be plugged-in seamlessly take the reigns (e.g., Blake Sims at Alabama -- and I know he has had some issues this year; however, he sure punched LSU in the gut, didn't he!).

I would agree with most now that Harris should start at TAMU and let's see what happens. He really can't be any worse than Jennings. The thing is, and I hope this is not the case with the amount of money LSU pays Les and the coaching staff, are they really just completely clueless when it comes to the QB situation?

That article is spot on. Did Shane write that? Seriously thou, I agree 100 percent with what is said. Even when we have had just average talent (JJ,Lee, Jennings, etc.) we have screwed the pooch at the qb position because we try to fit a square peg in a round hole. We need to run the playbook that fits the strength of these athletes. We try to make spread guys into drop back big 10 qb's and it doesn't work. The better coaches fit the scheme to the players strength, not try to make him fit your style. If we want to run the offense we presently run, then we need different skill sets. These young qb's were just running around the field and improvising 6-8 months ago in high school and Les is making them learn a style totally foreign to them at the highest level of Defense they have ever seen. They are uncomfortable and it shows.

Now I have heard, and it may only be rumor, but Harris is lazy when it comes to getting his mind in the game. He does not like to watch film and he does not take the academic side of learning the playbook serious enough. If this is true then that may be why he is riding the pine. To be a better quarterback you got to have more than physical talent and that takes hours of study. All the greats do it and if he wants to be all world, or even just an average qb in the SEC he better get on it. Personally I don't think that is the only reason he is not playing, I think a lot of it falls on Les and the description of him in the article. I do agree, we better fix it or we might be looking at 90's football again, and I for one don't even want to go through that again.

If he is lazy, miles isn't pushing him hard enough or we recruited the wrong QB again. Reminds of the tiger not wanting to attend football games.

If there is any degree of truth to that, then it would explain a lot. If it's true, of course it leads to the question of why is it tolerated?

Yea, I agree with both of you. Some stadium stairs would run that laziness out of him. Better to sit in film room than run the stadium a few times. We have lazy ones before that were allowed to be so, but I would hope the leaders on our team would light a fire under his rump. The coaches could use the Biloxi Blues method and punish the team by making them run, they would talk to him real fast and have his butt in the film room. BTW this was told to me by someone who works with the team, so it may true. It is the enigma that is Les Miles.

I don't know. But there is apparently something going on with Harris that we haven't been told, just like with Lee.
