Re: Arthur Cantrelle-RB (1968-1971)?? Welcome to the board. I remember him well. We took golf together at LSU.
Re: Arthur Cantrelle-RB (1968-1971)?? Give me Vodka or Tequila straight or nothing at all. I prefer the Medicinal qualities.
Re: Arthur Cantrelle-RB (1968-1971)?? great. now this thread has me really wondering what would happen if i poured a packet of grape koolaid (which i keep in my tailgating supplies) into a trainer. if i got drunk, i'd probably try it. :hihi:
My oh my how times change. Art Cantrelle was put on a pedestal as "the meanest sonofab*tch in football" for kicking the t-total shyt out of people in bars. Allegedly a player does it now and he gets swabbed for DNA and his apartment gets raided and the fan base turns on him. :dis:
That subject came up on WWL yesterday. Before either Cantrelle's junior or senior season, Sports Illustrated picked LSU as their pre-season number one. Bobby Hebert remembers the write-up including a sentence that went something like,"LSU's chances are greatly improved if Coach McClendon can keep Art Cantrelle out of jail."
Johnny was the last white RB in the SEC to break 1,000 yds. in a season, up to a few years ago(This record was from back in the early 70's). Who was the next white RB in the SEC to break the 1,000 yds. in a season?
I was thinking that Art found out about this and used a famous quote from Sheriff Buford T. Justice: "What the hell is this world comin to?"
