It's been a while since any position has been talked up as much as the Vols' secondary. And for good reason, with freshman All-American Eric Berry back to lead a group with plenty of talent and experience. Demetrice Morley is back as well, as are four cornerbacks who have starting experience. That should allow UT more freedom to play five and six defensive backs this fall, something it hasn't done as much in recent seasons because of lack of depth.

The Gators are fast and talented and strong and experienced. Did we mention fast? Quick story: Chris Rainey, a redshirt freshman running back, challenged incoming freshman Jeff Demps to a footrace this spring. Demps happens to be the world junior record-holder in the 100 meters. They went out behind one of the dorms. Rainey beat him.

Saban taking cautious approach at Alabama – August 5, 2008

Among them was a 21-14 home loss to Division 1-A bottom feeder Louisiana-Monroe and a sixth straight loss to Auburn. The Independence Bowl was kind enough to give 'Bama a bid, and it beat Colorado, 30-24, despite almost blowing a 27-0 second quarter lead.
