The Vandy game next week determines if they go 5-7 or 6-6. I say you have to fire the guy, simply for the fact he hasn't been able to get an SEC capable offense out on that field in 3 seasons now. Not uncommon for a former DC to fail on the offensive side of the ball when they become head coach. The natives are getting restless: https://twitter.com/PBPjasonlieser/status/397035160073277440/photo/1 They bet on the wrong horse when they had Charlie Strong right in their midst. I am assuming he would gladly take the job if offered now. Another damning article on Muschamp: http://www.ajc.com/weblogs/mark-bradley/2013/nov/02/georgia-should-be-thankful-will-muschamp/ Florida's offense has been offensive: 2011 = 105th 2012 = 104th 2013 = 110th
It's funny because now I find myself rooting for USC, just to make the Kiffin hire look that much worse.
With all the 'It's UGAs year' talk again this year and then falling on his face, he can't be protected much longer.
He has the built in excuse for injuries and rightfully so. Although I will forever remain in the camp that Mark Richt is good for at least 2 losses every season. Just chalk it up, cuz it's gonna happen. Therefore, no national championship ever for the Bulldogs as long as he is head coach. Florida's QB was the problem with the offense, so his injury doesn't count for Muschamp. Easley was a big injury, but the fact that they once again have an inept offense 3 years running, that's reason to fire a coach. That should not be happening at Florida with those recruiting classes. Strong goes to Louisville coming in from the DC position, and he has one of the most prolific offenses in the nation 2 years running. There's a coach who gets it. You hire a capable OC, recruit dynamic playmakers on offense and get the fuck out of the way. Well done, Charlie Strong.
And, yet, he plays the easiest schedule in the history of the BCS and manages to lose to UCF--at home. Richt certainly has the injuries excuse built in this year, but I'm sure that UGA fans must be far more dissatisfied with Richt than the Tiger faithful are with Miles. He's seemingly underachieved. I agree with Tirk that Muschamp could absolutely find himself out of a job by season's end.
Let's just say it wouldn't shock me. I don't think that Florida is going to tolerate mediocrity--as history has shown.
