I married into a family full of Naval Academy grads, and live near Annapolis. Plus, I like to sail. GEAUX NAVY!!!
I've wondered for years....why goats? There's gotta be a good story behind that choice. Maybe Army already had all the sheep? You know, West Point: Where Men are Men and sheep are Nervous! Long line of Navy men in my family. But I still don't know why they chose a goat....ldskule:
Well, guess this all leaves me out. I was Air Force. :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:
When I was a student at LSU, I was told that Tulane students once let Mike out of his cage and that the trainer was called and found Mike prowling around in the bleachers of the track stadium behind his cage. He shot him with a tranquilizer rifle and brought him back to the cage. Since then, I've told people the story, but I always let them know that I've never researched it to see if it was true or not. I mean come on... a live freaking bengal tiger let loose? Could you imagine? What if it mauled somebody? So I did I a brief internet search and found this article: http://www.sportsline.com/spin/story/9732744 --- "John Purdy who was an athletic trainer for 20 years at LSU (from 1978 to 1998) ... [was] informed that Tulane's students were playing a prank and had managed to let Mike the Tiger loose. ... Later, Mike the Tiger ... was tranquilized in the bleachers." So I guess it is true. That's insane. I wonder if a prank has ever been played on Tennessee's little dog Smokey or whatever his name is. Hope nobody feeds the poor little guy to Mike
Ex Navy submarine sailor here. Today Navy will kick Army's ass and bring home the commanders trophy once again. I think Navy still leads the country in rushing.
As a retired Zoomie, I don't have a dog, goat, or mule in this fight. Good luck to both the Cadet's & Midshipmen. :thumb: It should be a classic battle as it always is.
Ahhh....sweet victory. I'm a little drunk after the LSU win, but like I said Navy will kick those Army pukes asses.
