I bought into the entire "oh boy we gotta play Florida after a loss, that Urban Meyer's gonna...... yada yada yada". Well that never transpired. In fact we manhandled Florida tonight. With that said, do we want a perfect and overly confident 7-0 Auburn facing us in 2 weeks? Do we want to set Auburn up with it's first loss to give LSU the outright lead in the SEC West before we even face them?
Best question I've seen in some time. On one hand you wanna say a loss for Auburn so we'll be #1 in the SEC. Given that Arky's D is shaky (in my opinion) and our D is superb (in everyone's opinion). Arky's O is very good and ours is starting to become so-so. So, with that said, I'd rather have Auburn lose, in case we drop one somewhere along the line. BUT... I think Arky wins it anyway. And then we beat Auburn. Then we have a toss-up game to Arky (dem bastids is always playin us hard).
Mallett licking his chops after Kentucky gave Auburn's defense all it could handle. I got Arkansas winning it.
I'll be there. Gotta pull for Auburn -- my daughter is one of the Tigerettes that recruits for them. I keep telling her Greg Robinson is not leaving Louisiana. I'm LSU first, Auburn second, and anyone playing Alabama third. Geaux Tigers!
As long as we keep winning, we are golden. We have the schedule to earn a huge amount of respect this season.
Well, the immediate goal is the SEC west. 0-loss LSU is obviously in, 3-loss LSU is obviously out, and I think it's safe to leave some kind of weird scenario where LSU loses to 2 of our rivals but they both drop 3 more games as negligible. Not that being negligible prevents anything from happening this season, but we can continue. So I'll consider the 1-loss LSU case. Furthermore we can assume that 1L-LSU's loss wasn't to Bama for the sake of this question, since then we beat both Ark/Auburn and have tiebreakers. (Theoretical LSU rocks hard.) So that means Auburn and Arkansas need to have 2 non-LSU SEC losses. Arkansas faces Ole Miss, Vandy, SC, and Miss State, and was considerate enough to drop a game already for us. Auburn faces Ole Miss, Georgia, and Bama. I think it's more likely that Ark loses one out of their slate than Auburn loses 2 out of theirs. So I'd rather Auburn take the loss. It helps us more out in the case that matters. I wouldn't say that means pulling for Arkansas. I prefer to think of it as hoping for slightly less damnation upon Arky in the following week.
