No but you can make the argument that if Battier jacked up 8 a game, his average would come down substantially.
well, that isnt the point i am trying to prove at all. i know gilbert can create better than shane but i think that in a 3 pt contest, or just 2 guys shooting a ball in a gym that shane would shoot at a higher clip.
Battier is undoubtedly a better catch and shoot shooter. I don't know many folks that would debate that. And of course, Arenas is among the top 5 overall scorers in the league. Both players are among the best in the NBA at what they do.
You guys are talking abou two different things.....battier is a shooter not a scorer. Arenas is the opposite.
One thing not factored into a comparison of Arenas or Battier's percentage are the shots that Arenas has to throw up at the end of the shot clock. Say each team's offensive set didn't work and they are running out of time, who's gonna get the ball to try and make something happen before a 24 second violation? Arenas will be called on to take a last second shot alot more than Battier. Those type shots will lower your shooting percentage for sure. Both are good shooters though. I'd take Arenas in a 3 pt contest though.
