Are you upset that Les Miles chose Anthony Jennings as our starting QB?

I am upset that we lost a few players who have gone to other schools !!! What I look for is like Jennings in last years game . This one will have the one great comeback game and then be like Jennings . Another J J . Also I am sure no matter how much they were told by the coaches they like us (The Fans) thought no way will Miss State be able to play a good game against us . I have been a bit worried about Auburn , now I am really worried . After all we were the only team to beat the Auburn Tigers last season . Now I will not send Miles a email; I did that once . He reminded me that I was a fan and that he was the coach . Then very nice in his way .Thanked me for being a LSU fan , GEAUX TIGERS !!!

There are several factors that play into this.

First off AJ has a lot of work to do on his progressions. No doubt about that. However he all too often has no time to throw because the OL does not sustain blocks. He does throw some beautiful balls at times. He is also forced to run into a brick wall, when you know you're going to not get anywhere. It is difficult to make plays when called upon when your coaches show no faith in you.

On to Harris. When came into the game Miss St felt they had the game won. So the played uber conservative on D. Giving LSU time to pass, as well as a sagging D. Harris has such a great arm he can fit passes in there. Dupre made a heck of catch as well. All that said, I think Harris deserves an opportunity to start next week and show what he can do. Despite the conservative D, he looked extremely poised. He has a special arm. I also like how he appears to look for other receivers more than AJ.

Not really upset ... but not suprised. It's the JJ show all over again. The better short passing QB is set out while a "favorite" is allowed to stink up the field.

Jefferson ...errr .. I mean .. Jenkins can't throw short passes, the kind you need to move the ball down field. LSU's offense looks exactly like the JJ years ..... run run BOMB.

BUT ... I'm not going to get upset about it all! CLM is as stubborn as they come. He'll keep on trying to make that square peg fit in that round hole. ... even if it does mean a 6-6 season. And that is what I think it'll come down too.

Jenkins = 6-6 season [we will lose to MS, Bama, Aub, ATM, Florida, and one of AR or OM, and maybe both].

    Harris = 9-3 season ... maybe better.

Don't forget how poor Harris played versus Wisconsin. And that he was in the game last night throwing against the State reserves. Harris has more upside than Jennings probably, but until he can run the offense consistently and know the playbook he will be sharing time with Jennings. Times like these make me wish our senior quarterback did not transfer.

Arkansas will run right over this LSU defense. Heard the anouncers yesterday saying that AR has the heaviest OL in the nation, and that includes professional. Our front four is weak. Welter is no help, slow and still tackling from behind, and out of position. Alexander has flashes of brilliance, but is not a saving grace. No matter what we do at LB, our front four has to grow a pair.

I echoed your prediction .... but had it reversed, 2-6, maybe 1-7. But, the main problem is the same as in the past ..... Jenkins has to go. If a coach is going to allow a QB to develop, it's better to go with the one with the higher potential, and Harris has the better arm, and is every bit as good a runner.

And that is the issue in a nut shell.

Why waste a season on the lesser QB .... use this season to develop the greater potential.

But I agree, ... it was a shame that CLM let Rivers leave.

    1. Harris didn't throw a single pass vs Wisconsin.
    2. Jennings cannot hit open targets
    3. Harris CAN hit open targets
    4. would you rather we line up right and look like shit? or call plays our best players know, even if limited in calling?

Agreed, Harris did not really have much of a shot against UW. He went in, had some predictable hand offs. He looked overwhelmed but you have to stick with him for at least another drive. Let him throw on first down to calm down.

I'd like to see Harris start and give him a few drives for the next game. We know Miles will ride AJ into the ground with a stagnant O and predictable play calling.

Ever year I hear, well this guy knows the plays, but he can't do anything with the plays because of his abilities.

But hey, at least we get lined up right.
