I've had 218 purple and gold pansies growing in my yard since September. The last time I grew purple and gold pansies was in '03--so it must be my pansies that makes us get into the BCSNCG during crazy seasons. I WILL be planting them again next year.
In '03 I wanted to win for myself and other fans. As my brother said to me, "Just one, ONE championship, and I can die a happy man," and I knew a lot of people then who felt the same way. The win in '03 was so great after having lived through the LSU football in the 90s. This year, I want the win for Miles and for the team. I really love this team, and I have such affection for OUR coach, and I admire their open affection for each other. I got my wish in '03, this time I want the win for them. Other than that, I am just as nervous as I was before '03, or any game for that matter. And as with any game, all I ask for is that we play up to the best of our abilities...I'm not much into praying over football, but I will say a quick, "Dear Lord, just let us play well" before the game starts!
I think I'm more confident this year just because in 03 I was happy that we made it to the game and nobody expected us to be there...This year, since the season started, we all expected to be in the NCG so that makes me more confident...I know our defense will play like they did against Tenn and that's why I'm feeling good about the game.
So, in your mind, Miles is selfish and tries to shift the spotlight to himself? You, my lower echelon Big Ten friend, have no idea what you are talking about.
