When I look at other top SEC schools and the other top programs there recruits are no better than ours. We/I want to keep as many instate guys as we can but when we are getting some of the top guys in other states we really don't need the medium talented guys instate to just keep dept. There just ain't enough room for everyone, we are looking for stars. I think this is something I for one could not grasp until I took a look around at other programs recruits.

Arkansas for instance only gets a few 4* guys a year yet we gripe when CLM gets a couple 3* guys a year. We are really blessed to be in such a position to be able to get the recruits we get.

I think this says alot about our coaching staff, they are so far not letting this talent go to waste. I think our record speaks for it's self.

:geaux::crystal::helmet: It's amazing what has happened in the last 10 years. Just look where the program was in '98!!! LSU is now a program considered by most of the top talent in the country, which wasn't possible just those few short 10 years ago. We are truly blessed with a great program, great coaches, the best stadium in the country, and the greatest fans in college football!
Although LSU is drawing many top-notch recruits from out of state, and I hope that continues, we definitely need to keep the in-state kids locked down as much as possible. Not being able to keep the in-state talent hurt LSU's program for so many years. Seeing La.'s top talent go to out of state programs for years was sickening! For a long time, it seemed like Bobby Bowden and FSU just owned La. and came and got whoever they wanted. That ain't happenin' now!! The coaches know how important La. talent is and will do what is necessary to keep the top recruits at LSU. Although as you said, some kids will now get left out due to the numbers game. Kids that may have been able to come to LSU in the past just don't have the chance now. The price of success it seems.:geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

Classes need to have balance, in all regards - that means balance among the positions taken, the ratio between instate & out-of-state, and also the percentages of superstars and solid players.

You need non-"star" players that will grow & develop in the program, and won't transfer if they don't see PT quick enough.

There is a recruit here or there that of course I'd trade, but overall I don't think any school does a better job of consistently having great, balanced classes.
