Are we going to be in the same position looking for a coach late into the off season?

The big struggle when we lost NS to Miami was how late it occurred. Should Lloyd Carr announce his retirement after the OSU game as was previously stated we could be in trouble should CLS decide to look into that position after the NC game should we make it that far.

We would be scrambling for a quality replacement just like we were when NS left us the day after Christmas in 2004.

Would we even get a shot at retaining Bo Pelini before he possibly bolted to Nebraska or talk to Tubby before he goes to A&M?

I just don't want to be in the same position as we were 3 years ago should CLS decide he "must" go back to Michigan.

Stop worrying about that, if we do lose our coach, Steve Spurrier will become our next coach........book it Danno.

I just threw up, just a little bit, and then was able to swallow it back down. I have a really bad taste in my mouth after that post.

Houston Nutt will be available and would love to coach LSU football.

    In a word: yes.

Just a matter of bad luck/timing. Michigan has had 3 head coaches in, like, the last 40 years. Les Miles has coveted the Michigan job for years.

The job is coming open in a year where he just happens to be ranked #1 and possibly/probably that year's national title winner. He'll have the leverage to get paid and get the kind of influence and power he needs to be successful at Michigan.

If I was Les and had that kind of leverage available, the kind to shape and mold my situation to maximize my chances of being successful...at a job I've wanted for years and would never leave if I got it, I'd take that situation in a heartbeat.

It has nothing to do w/ LSU, and it would be strange if he didn't take the job if offered.

Jack Del Rio's playoff run should end on wild card weekend...or just in time to step into the LSU job right after the national title game.

    Feel better? :)

I have a feeling that we won't be in the same position this time because Skip will promote Crowton to HC after Bo and Miles leaves . . . and I think that both Pelini and Miles are gone.

I'd feel better if we decided to promote Pelini over Crowton.
