The dual threat QB is way overrated, however rated they might be. Give me a QB who can throw to multiple spots on the field and has a little scrambling ability to elude the rush for a few extra seconds.

I agree with those who would like a passing QB who has the ability to run. Like a Flynn or Mauck even. I want our receivers and rb's to be the playmakers on an offense that runs and passes 50% of the time. Run for 200 and pass for 250 a game.

If a D takes away one aspect then kill them with the other. And always be able to run in the 4th.

Im jaded. I wan't a pocket passer/game manager. Duel threats are fun to watch with xbox type moves and numbers, but I think consistency is the key to winning. I agree with MLU. Get an identity and stick with it. All you have to do is look at Alabama and what they've done. They just won a NC with a qb that may have not even been the starter at the first of the season. I can't see Saban putting in a playstation type qb hoping he will just make something magically happen.

I would like to see a pocket passer too, but the right dual-threat QB in college can make all the difference in the world. (Young, Tebow, Newton, RGIII)

I'd like a QB who was consistently ANY kind of threat. We haven't had one that was consistently a threat to do anything in awhile. Sometimes JJ ran with purpose, sometimes he didn't. Sometimes he could throw, sometimes he couldn't. Lee could never run but he was also skitzo with the throwing ability..

I don't have any problems with a dual-threat QB. I'd love to have a dual-threat QB. That extra capability is a wonderful asset.

I am, however, quite afraid of a QB who is hyped up as a dual-threat QB, yet is in actuality a running-only or zero-threat QB.

Throwing and Running the ball is a great thing. Running because the QB has no confidence in his arm is not a good thing.

I wouldn't mind having a dual threat quarterback as long as it's a guy who is a passing quarterback that can tuck it and run like Mauck or Flynn, rather than a running quarterback who can occasionaly throw it like Jefferson.
