Not a good sign when the once eternal optimist is looking at a .500 season. I think LSU will end up 7-5 or 8-4. I too have lost faith in the coaching after the last two seasons. I think LSU has a shot at UF if things get turned around. No shot at Bama as of now. I think how LSU comes out against UNC will show a lot of what we could expect for the season. If LSU comes out like they did against Washington, which was a microcosm for the season. Then next year will get ugly because the games are tougher. Much better OOC compeition. Plus teams like Miss St, Arkansas, and Auburn will all be improved. While LSU is regressing under the current staff.

This year is crucial to Miles and his tenure and legacy at LSU. He must start coaching kids up. He must also find that fire and his balls again. Take a page from Coach Payton. Coach to win, not to lose.

Way too fatalistic at this point. Make no mistake about it, Alleva's "state of the program" letter to the fans was a shot across the bow for Les to shape up. Florida will be talented but vastly inexperienced. Bama loses a good amount of defensive talent and starts over with a new QB. They are not unbeatable. The 2010 schedule is set up to be as favorable as possible with these teams on the schedule every year. LSU has the potential to win the West, but that all starts with coaching. I suspect we'll see Crowton marginalized with Gonzales taking over a lot of playcalling duty and Les taking on a more active role with the O-line. The bottom line is if we finish 7-5 or 6-6 and still don't beat any Top 25 competition, Les will completely lose the fans and will be shown the door sooner rather than later.

McClroy is a junior and they only lose a handful of starters on both sides of the ball. They are loaded again.

i voted yes because i have zero faith les has a clue to whats going on during gametime. i also see his lack of utilization of talent as his downfall and eventual dismissal.

currently, they arent off but they are a-loose and wobbly.

isl and I never agree but we do here. 6-6 will officially be the sign we need a new pit crew.

2009 shoulda been our year as well as russell shepards. we are now in rebuilding mode.

what?! because of losing who? lafell, scott, and black? they were all good but not special. alem, jones, riley?

perhaps losing a deep Senior class without stars will be made up by the excellent Fr class getting another year experience. another year for chavis and jj will add to the success of 09

He was mediocre last year probably the same this year. Having said that is similar to Flynn doesn't do any thing really special but at the same time the kid is smart enough not to screw the game away.

Key words right there. Potential and it starts with coaching. LSU hasnt played to their potential for two straight years. While the players have their part with no apparent leadership right now. Also they have to make themselves accountable, which is again leadership. That said, I think most of that is on coaching. If LSU plays to potential we dont struggle nearly as much against inferior teams. I know you cant bring the A game all the time but damn. LSU brought it just once against Auburn and look what happened. I dont see Bama as being unbeatable if we play to potential. If the kids are coached up, held accountable, right personnel, and better play calling this is a damn strong football team. If those things arent enhanced then we are looking at another underachieving season. Again, I think some losses are acceptable if we see a good product.

I agree I was just showing that if you have someone with some grey matter you can do pretty well. Not so sure we have that with JJ.
