I just hope the wheels don't fall off this week. Distractions sucks.

I'll deal with next year after this season is over...

btw...its all good if RP gets booted, we just direct snap it to holliday and run the option with KW 60 times a game. Sounds like scoreboard to me :D

The big problem with next year is that we have our four toughest SEC opponents on the road again. We are not going to finish with 11 wins every year. Next year we may lose a few on the road.

CLM has a "wandering eye." May be about time for him to leave. :thumb: j/k

All Coaches have Wandering "Agent" Eyes. If Bama would have hired Bobby Bowden just think how many more NC's Bama would have.

There would have been at least three.

This is college football. Players graduate and move on. New players come in. Last year we lost some good players. I don't think the wheels fell off. Also coaches come and go. Fisher left and Crowton came in, big deal. Again, wheels still on. I think we might be in the hunt for the NC right now. Program seems to be in pretty good shape. Wheels seem pretty solid to me.

It's an even numbered year, which essentially takes us out of national championship contention. I suspect our depth is fine for another good season though.

'Tis a legit question Cajun. This is a question I have often pondered myself but really hadn't looked at it big picture wise.

More or les (no pun intended) next year, even more than this season, we will find out just how good of an eye Les Miles has for talent. We have plenty of good young players at the skill positions. Losing Early this season has sucked but in turn has given some young guys more opportunities to get on the field, which will only help down the road.

One thing that I think gets overlooked with Pelini is how good of a job he does at rotating in young guys on the defense, giving them good game experience. I think this is one of the main reasons why we haven't seen that much of a drop off in defense from year to year. We have stayed pretty consistent on the defensive side of the ball for sometime now. Like it was stated earlier in the thread, players leave, new players step in.

All this said, I don't think we can have another season filled with more turmoil and adversity than what we have seen this season. Between player problems, key injuries, and the like, this season has been one giant emotional roller coaster. I think the last three games are proof enough.

So, no, I don't think the wheels come off. Though, next season will be a tough one. But we have the talent to win some games next season and be in contention for at least the SEC again.

Every year someone mentions that they're worried about losing one of our great defensive leaders and every years another one seems to step up....whether it's Brady James, Chad Lavalais, Marcus Spears, Marquis Hill, Laron Landry, or Glenn Dorsey.....someone always seems to step up and be a defensive star and anchor. I have no doubt that will be the case again next year. Question then becomes, who will that be?
