OK, my brother in law lives in Tickfaw. I don't know who the local Fox affiliate is there I think it's out of New Orleans. A few weeks ago we are talking on the phone at half time about the Saints. He tells me he has NFL Sunday Ticket like I do. He doesn't follow other teams besides the Saints so I ask why. He tells me that the Saints broadcasts are sometimes blacked out in his area. Now this boy ain't the brightest bulb in the box (he lives in Tickfaw), but his cheap butt actually paid for Sunday Ticket to see them because he swears all the games aren't televised there. Are they sometimes blacked out in the home market this season? Why?

if its "blacked out" , it would not be available on Sunday Ticket.
in fact, you can't even watch them on Sunday Ticket, period (if you're in local their market).
you have to watch them on your local affiliate.

he's got the exact same local channels through DirecTv as I do.
they have never been blacked out for me.

That's what made no sense. If they are in the local market and shown on local network TV, it cannot be shown on Sunday Ticket. At least that's what I thought.

Not to mention that the Saint's haven't failed to sell out a game in years.

Don't know how Sunday Ticket works, but for NFL Network games, "blackout lifted" means only that one broadcast station in the team's home market can carry the game. For New Orleans, that's WGNO. The Saints are supposedly petitioning the NFL to allow one Baton Rouge station to carry the game as well. Bottom line, unless you can catch WGNO, its NFL Network or nothing.

people are whining its being blacked out locally even though its on NFL network.

its like complaining you dont have hbo when you have cable or satellite.

    buy it or shut up.

wasnt it espn2 that semi-debuted with duke/unc about 15 yrs ago in middle of the week.

almost no one had it. everyone was pissed.

thats was somewhat different. hardly any cable companies had it then.

The problem is you can't buy it. Does anyone know if the game will be streaming online anywhere?

I'm not talking about NFL Network games. I mean regular old normal Fox games.

Maybe his local Fox affiliate is out if BR and not NO, I'm not sure. Even so, wouldn't their normal game that they carried be the Saints?
